The audit, exercise by exercise

The participatory audit explores five everyday zones of campus life. Each is a hands-on exercise your team can run — download the matching tool from the toolkit to go deeper.

  1. 01

    Spaces

Who occupies which spaces — classrooms, corridors, restrooms, courtyards? Map it and photograph it.

  2. 02

    Participation

Who speaks, who leads, who is asked to take notes? Count speaking time by gender in a class.

  3. 03

    Content & materials

Whose names and faces fill the books, posters and examples? Build a “gallery of the forgotten”.

  4. 04

    Roles & norms

Who cares, who tidies, who leads? Are rules and sanctions applied equally to everyone?

  5. 05

    Language

Is the language in signage, documents and the website inclusive or sexist? Redesign one biased message.
